Dreams Beyond the Gutter( Escaping Tomorrow)

In the narrow, noisy alleys of Ajegunle, where the smell of open gutters mixed with frying akara and loud Afrobeat from cracked speakers, Tunde grew up dodging trouble like it was rain. At sixteen, most boys his age already had nicknames from the street—"Sharp Sharp", "Omo Iya Oloja", boys who ran errands for area boys, who smoked weed behind the abandoned mechanic shop, who flashed small wads of naira like they owned tomorrow. They called Tunde "Book Boy" at first to mock him, later with something close to respect, because he never joined them. Not once. His mother sold pure water and recharge cards under a torn umbrella near the bus stop. His father? Long gone before Tunde could remember his face. Every evening Mama would press twenty naira into his palm—"Buy bread, eat, read your book"—before turning back to customers. She never finished secondary school herself, but she believed university was the only ladder tall enough to climb out of this place. Tunde studied under the flickering yellow bulb in their one-room face-me-I-face-you apartment, mathematics textbooks spread on the wooden bench while children screamed outside and generators coughed diesel smoke through the window. When NEPA took light, he used the torchlight from an old Nokia, squinting until his eyes burned. The street tried hard to claim him. One humid night, his childhood friend Skido—now deep in Yahoo Yahoo—slapped a brand-new iPhone into Tunde's hand. "Just hold it for me, bro. One delivery, you chop 50k. No stress." Tunde stared at the phone like it was a snake. His heart pounded—not from greed, but fear. Fear that one "yes" would end every dream he'd protected so fiercely. He pushed the phone back. "I no fit, Skido. I wan go school." Skido laughed, but the laugh cracked at the edges. "School? You go write JAMB, pass, then wetin? Four years, still come back here sell recharge card like your mama? Wake up, guy." Tunde walked away, chest tight. That night he cried silently into his pillow so Mama wouldn't hear—hot, shameful tears because part of him wondered if Skido was right. But every morning he woke up and chose the same thing: the worn WAEC past questions, the dog-eared Chemistry textbook, the dream of walking through those big gates at University of Lagos, wearing a student ID that said he belonged somewhere bigger than these streets. Results day came like judgment. He stood in the long queue at the cyber café, palms sweating, heart slamming against his ribs. When the screen finally loaded, his knees nearly buckled. English – B3 Mathematics – A1 Physics – B2 Chemistry – B3 Biology – C4 Literature – C6 He had made it. The cutoff was close, painfully close—but he cleared it. He ran home through the muddy streets, tears blurring everything, shouting "Mama! Mama!!" like a small child again. She dropped the pure water sachet she was tying and caught him as he crashed into her arms. "My boy… my boy…" she whispered, rocking him while customers st
ared. For the first time in years, she cried openly in public—tears of pride, relief, and something deeper: the fear she'd carried alone that her only son might disappear into the same darkness that swallowed so many others. That evening, Tunde sat on the small veranda, JAMB result printout clutched in his hand like scripture. The street noise felt distant for once. He looked up at the sky turning orange and purple, and whispered to himself, "I did it. I really did it." But admission lists weren't out yet. Money for acceptance fees, accommodation, books—everything still felt like mountains he hadn't climbed. He closed his eyes, breathing in the familiar smell of smoke, garri, and hope. To be continued...

HOW TO EFFECTIVELY USE THE 12 MONTHS NYSC YEAR

This may not be a rule book, but this could serve as a guide to help you utilize the 12 months of NYSC year maximally for your profit.

Month 1 - NYSC Orientation Exercise
- Use this month to identify the purpose of the service year and the persons that can help you actualize your goals. Making friends with the NYSC officers is key.

In my time, I had easy access to the NYSC state Secretariat, my ZI, LI and Schedule officers. This relationship was built in the camp where I served as Platoon leader. Most corps members make the mistake here of making friends with the soldiers. The soldiers may not be the best set of persons to offer you help here because apart from the Camp commandant and RSM, the others are rank and file officers.

Month 2 - Report to your PPA.
- Volunteer to do beyond your schedule duty at your PPA.

- If you have flare for the Academics, locate the Tertiary institution in LGA or nearby. Go there and volunteer to work in the Laboratory or help a Lecturer take his/her course. Lecturers and Technologists will always be happy to have you.
- Get active with your CDS group.
- Start planning your Personal CDS project.
- Find and Secure a secondary place of Assignment. You need that extra funds.

Month 3 - Apply for your Personal CDS project.
You apply to the State Coordinator through your LI. Carrying out the simplest of project like sharing sanitary pads to female students is significant in the NYSC and the future. For the future, it counts for a significant community service.

Month 4 - Skill Acquisition Month
- Start your skill acquisition proper.
- Learn skills that takes two to three months to perfect.
- Most skill trainers give discount to corps members.
- Do more of hard skills and little of soft skills.
- In thr family house, you can do barter skills traning. That is, teach me what you know, I teach you mine.

Month 5 - Continue Skill Acquisition. Start sorting for funds for your PCDS Project.
- A bulk of your funds may go in here. don't mind. It will be worth it.
- Reach you to your religious group, fellow corps members, rich relatives to aid with funds for your project.
- You must have a ready proposal for this.
- Use the NYSC fund request letter. This comes with your PCDS approval letter.

Month 6 - Start a second Skill Acquisition training.
- You are now two months into your first skill. It is time to get into another one.
- This new skill should be Data Analytics (e get why)
- In Six weeks you should perfect the intermediate level proficiency.
- This can be online.

Month 7 - Teach Others the skills you gained and make savings from the pay.
- Organize training for other corps members in the lodges and family houses.
- Register your skill training with SAED at the NYSC trainer.
- Become a SAED trainer.
- Register your enterprise with CAC ( If you want to pursue biz)
- Apply for your transcript (If PG Abroad is your quest)

Month 8 - The Month of Applications
- Use the month to learn how to craft application Cover, CV (professional and Academic)
- Graduate School Docs
- Learn Internet Searching and Exploring skills.
- Learn how to use Google

Month 9 - Application Month. Go for leadership position in your CDS
- Professionally and in the Academics, past Leadership positions is a plus to your CV. By month 9, you are now a Senior corp member, your batch should be the foremost batch, thus you are now ripe to contest for CDS president, Fellowship president, MSM etc.
- Don't forget to keep applying and business your businessmanship skills

Month 10 - Conclude your PCDS Project
- Begin to evaluate your options.
- If you followed the above schedule, there will be very many options by now.
-Academics, Business, Employment etc should be at your doorsteps
- Seek advice from NYSC officers

Month 11 - Unwind and Look into the Future
- List your alternatives. Count your cost.
- Plan your next steps
- Draw the life's trajectory
- Time to connect and reconnect.

Month 12 - Welcome to the New You
- Never go to service and come back the same.
- Make sure something is added to your life and perspective
- Make sure you are seeing life from a new optics

ASUU STRIKE: NAUS threatens Drastic Action

The National Association of University Students, Osun State chapter has threatened ‘drastic action’ over the persistent strike of the Academic Staff Union of Universities.

In a statement made available to The PUNCH on Monday, and jointly signed by the Chairman, the Secretary-General and the Publicity Secretary; Eruobami Ayobami, Olaniyan Saleem Opeyemi and Lawal Idris Tomiwa, respectively, the student body bemoaned the persistent closure of schools, stating that the feud between the striking lecturers and the Federal Government had remained a hindrance to the academics of Nigerian students.

The statement read in part, “for years and still counting, it has become glaring that the issue of the feud generated through the seemingly unending clash of interests between the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, that has desisted to fade away in any bit has undoubtedly become an insurmountable hindrance for the academic proceedings of all affected Nigerian Students, who happen to be the majority.”

The students argued that, in all the strike actions of ASUU over time, there had always been claims and counterclaims from both the lecturers and the government, arguing that the government seemed to be deriving fun from the unfortunate menace.

“Any ASUU strike that surface over time, the current one inclusive, is always surrounded with several stories and claims from the end of ASUU and corresponding counterclaims from the Federal Government. Regardless, all are still pointers to the fact that our leaders seem to be picking fun in all these disruptions caused to our lives.

“Despite the relentless wailings and yelling from the students whose lives are being toyed with, and our parents whose only retirement plan are us, their children, such issues like this that have us as the bearers of the brunt are noticed to be consistently addressed with the least of readiness and promptness from our leaders,” the students argued.

The students further threatened to take action, stressing that they had been pushed to the wall, and were with no other choice.
“This has been pushing us and to which adaptation has been our incapacitated response, but now, we are at the wall and we may have no choice than to respond with severe agitations. In the course of this, the leadership of this association is hereby using the responsible medium to call on all necessary offices, emphasis on the Federal Government, to see this as an urgent point of call as it should be and make all necessary provisions and adjustments that will not only fix this current ASUU strike but also for continuous sustainability of our academic system afterwards with immediate effect.

“As agitations through protest are expected to be the last resolution, this is us being so cordial by letting our voice and stand known via this respected medium, we hope the appropriate quarters respond accordingly by doing the needful so as to avert having this followed by a drastic and unwanted decision by the leadership of this association,” the statement read further.

The PUNCH had earlier reported that the striking lecturers, on March 14, declared an extension of its warning strike by eight weeks over the failure of the Federal Government to meet its demands.

Why JAMB Results Cannot Be Used Beyond One Year – Registrar

The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Ishaq Oloyede has explained that results for the board’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) cannot last beyond one year because it is a ranking and not an achievement test.

He said this in Kano during an interaction with journalists after an assessment tour of the board’s Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre and others within the state as well as the board’s ongoing project.

Explaining the difference between the two, Oloyede said achievement tests’ results can be banked over a period or even for life because they “Are not one-chance examination, they take continuous assessments, they do practical assessments, on-the-spot assessment and a final exam, which is added together” while the ranking test is “A one-chance examination; you cannot use it to accurately judge the capacity of the candidate because it is taken in one sitting and can be affected by several factors.”

Citing an example, he said “Somebody who wants to read medicine last year that scored 230 and this was why he could not do medicine. If you tell the person not to take another one this year but to use the last score, the student will not listen because you are killing the student, because we have to re-rank them for this year.”

Oloyede said the suggestions (for the result to last over a year) were from people that do not know the nature and purpose of the exam, adding that the purpose of the examination determines the duration of the result.

“The purpose (of UTME) is just to rank people who are assumed to be already qualified,” he said.

On whether the post-UTME conducted by tertiary institutions is an indictment on the credibility of JAMB, Oloyede said the board does not have any problem with institutions having a say in how candidates are admitted, saying universities should not be deprived of re-ascertaining the qualities of candidates they want to take.

“If I am sure of the validity of my examination, I will not be afraid of you testing and re-testing the candidates because it will come back to almost the same thing. There were disparities in the past between our examination and the post-UTME, but that cannot be said again,” he said.

Why We’ll Never Encourage Tuition Fees – ASUU

The leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has said that only genuine increment in budgets for education between 20 and 26 per cent by the federal government as spelt out by the United Nations will be the solution to the current impasse with the university system in Nigeria. In this interview with Daily Trust on Sunday, the president of the union, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke, argued that introducing school fees would not solve the current crisis. He noted that while Nigeria’s resources are being mismanaged by government officials, education is being given priority in other countries.

Will ASUU consider the introduction of school fees in our universities as a solution since all your demands are financially related, so that they can all be met at once?

ASUU and the travail of Nigerian education
Endless strikes: Why FG, ASUU fail to get it right

We will not encourage tuition fees in whatever guise. The government can meet our demands without tuition fees. What is the minimum wage for Nigerians? It is N30,000. If we start to charge N200,000 to N300,000 how will a parent earning N30,000 pay for two children?

It should be noted that education is a right, not a privilege, so we will never go for that! If they like, let them sack all of us.

But in other countries, education is a right only at primary and secondary levels, not at the tertiary level. In fact, some at primary level only. What’s your take on that?

Is that what our constitution states? Besides, the parents of these students are already paying so much. They pay for accommodation because there are no more hostels in universities, they pay for feeding and transport because they are not staying on campus. They pay for everything, including laboratory usage. So why should they pay for tuition again? Can the country afford it? The answer is yes.

How best do you think this current crisis can be handled?

Once the government makes up its mind to prioritise education over other things like other countries in the world, they would fund it. How much is Nigeria trying to borrow to pay for fuel subsidy? It IS $2 billion. You heard it when the minister of finance disclosed it.

What is the way out?

That is what I am saying; fuel subsidy is not something we should be talking about because it doesn’t exist. They said they would borrow $2 billion, which is over N1 trillion, to use on fuel subsidy. The amount that can build a refinery!

We need to amend our laws so that all these oil companies and moribund refineries can be resuscitated, but we want to spend this money on fuel subsidy to feed some prominent people who own oil companies. But we cannot push N200m, which is less than $50 million US on our education. Does it sound right? So, if the leadership of this country prioritises education, we will get it right.

In Ghana, their budget on education is between 15 to 20 per cent of their total, while Nigeria budgets six per cent. Does it make any sense? Not even in the United States where the minimum wage is high. If they try the introduction of tuition fees, children will rise against every person involved.

What are the solutions?

Nigeria should increase her budgetary allocations to what has been recommended by the United Nations Education and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), which is 20 to 26 per cent as we have in other countries. Once it is increased to that percentage, it will fund it. That’s all.

In this country, we are aware that the president, Muhammadu Buhari, was in a conference somewhere outside the country and he said that in 2022 he would increase the education budget by 50 per cent, a year later, he said he would increase it by 100 per cent. We all watched him make that promise.

So, what happened this year; instead of increasing it as promised you reduced it. Those are the issues.

How many of your demands have been met out of the ones you listed?

None has been met fully.

Which ones have been met partially?

We want revatilisation of the universities and the government promised that on a yearly basis, as far back as 2013, we shall be receiving N220 billion, which they signed. Since 2014 till today they have only released N70 billion. Between 2014 and today is about eight years.

The last time we met in 2020 they said they would release N30 billion immediately as a sign of commitment to implementing the agreement. That is the commitment out of the N220 billion, but till now, they have not released anything.

Also, we agreed to mainstream Earned Academic Allowances (EAA) so that we will not be talking about it again, and they agreed, as if they would mainstream it in 2020 or 2021. 2021 has come and gone and in 2022, it is not in the budget, and they have done nothing!

They also said they were going to pay our promotion arrears. People were promoted four, five years ago, but till now they just paid few to create the confusion that people have been paid, which is not correct.

The fourth one is that they said they were going to accept the UTAS as an alternative to the IPPIS. It is about 10 months now and the UTAS has not been accepted. They kept on telling lies. We have done tests with them, which were all positive.

But they went to the public to tell lies that the UTAS failed integrity tests. We asked if the IPPIS they are using was even tested, and the answer is no. What they are using was never tested; and they don’t want to test it. We have told them to test the two together and see the one that is better, but they said they should not be addressed like that, just because there are some people feeding on the IPPIS.

All these were said during negotiation. We started this negotiation in 2017. This was an agreement in May 21, 2021; and now, they are telling us that they are going to set up another panel. Does it make sense? Those are the major issues we had in the agreement, and till now, none has been implemented, not even up to 10 per cent. I just pray they can do it within a short period if there is a commitment.

What is your message to students who are now at home?

The struggle is about the Nigerian university system. It is about the future of our students. The government is muting the idea of paying school fees, N1 million per student, then all of them will leave the school.

They should know that what we are fighting for is about them. If we ‘leather our guide’ they will introduce school fees of N1m per student. And you know the implication. How many Nigerian students would be able to afford N1m as school fees?

THE HEART OF HUMANITY 💞

*THE WICKNES OF  HUMANITY!*

written by Nwankwo Godwin SenGin ✍️

She asked him, 'How much are you selling the eggs for?'
The old seller replied, '#60 an egg, Madam.'
She said to him, 'I will take 6 eggs for #25 or I will leave.'
The old seller replied, 'Come take them at the price you want. Maybe, this is a good beginning because I have not been able to sell even a single egg today.' She took the eggs and walked away feeling she has won. She got into her fancy car and went to a posh restaurant with her friend. There, she and her friend, ordered whatever they liked. They ate a little and left a lot of what they ordered. Then she went to pay the bill. The bill costed her #24,500 She gave #25000 and asked the owner of the restaurant to keep the change.

This incident might have seemed quite normal to the owner but, very painful to the poor egg seller.

The point is,
Why do we always show we have the power when we buy from the needy ones? And why do we get generous to those who do not even need our generosity?

I once read somewhere: 'My father used to buy simple goods from poor people at high prices, even though he did not need them. Sometimes he even used to pay extra for them. I got concerned by this act and asked him why does he do so? Then my father replied, "It is a charity wrapped with dignity, my child”

*Every successful person has a painful story, so never give up. Today's History

   *Today's History*
The Moors were Black Africans that settled in europe (spain in particular) around the year 711. Highly educated, the Moors brought much ”light" to europeans, who had barely emerged from the dark age following the vandals invasion. The Moors were highly esteemed by europeans for their erudition and refinement.

The Moors, for example, taught europeans to regularly change their clothes instead of wearing the same filthy clothes all year round. It was also under the influence of the Moors that the various European ethnic groups began to wash frequently and to use soap. These new measures contributed considerably to reduce deadly diseases linked to poor hygiene. The Moors also established the separation between humans and animals. Before that, europeans lived with their chickens, sheep, or cows in the same place where they ate and slept. This overcrowding caused illnesses like measles and chickenpox.

The Moors also made reading accessible. In fact, the majority of the people in europe were illiterate at that time, including kings and nobles. Only the clergy really knew how to read and write because they were spreading the bible. The Moors built free schools accessible to everyone, as well as hundreds of libraries which included thousands of manuscripts on medicine and surgery, astrology, plant healing, architecture, fabric making, farming techniques, and music.

Many of the instruments currently used in western music have their origins with the Moors. Examples include the drum, the horn, the lute, the xylophone, and the harp. Today, the trumpet is an evolution of the horn, the guitar comes from the lute and the piano is simply a lying harp to which keys have been added. The Moors built the first conservatory of music in europe in Valencia, spain and they are probably the originators of “european classical music”.

The Moors civilized Europe for a large part, but because of racist ideologies, their influence has been denied to this day. By immersing yourself in specialized historical works and observing pictorial art ‪from the 8th to the 11th‬ century, you will find their contributions to Europe.

CYNTHIA STORY! JAMB UPGRADE

*JAMB RESULT UPGRADE: HOW CYNTHIA WAS SCAMMED - READ AND LEARN*
There is absolutely nothing like JAMB Result Upgrade.

It's a pure scam and you will definitely regret it if you opt in for it. Even if sometimes, we actually do believe that JAMB papers can leak, JAMB UPGRADING is Impossible so to speak.

Now read and learn how Cynthia was scammed. Her Story....
*SenGinEduco organization media*
My name is Cynthia Joseph, am 17 years old and i would like to share my jamb story with you guys, so other people will not be deceived as i was deceived I wrote jamb last year while i was still in ss3 and i got 204, i was just testing my ability so i did not take the jamb serious when my dad saw the result he said wow.. am sure my baby would make 250 next year.

This year jamb exam was to hold on April but due to the fact that i was at home after my waec i have started reading and preparing for jamb since December 2012, My course is economics and i was sitting for maths, English, commerce and economics. I read my commerce and economics text book 6 times before the jamb examination. And i attended jamb lessons to support myself in english and maths.

A day to the exam i was very confident that i would murder all the questions that will come out in jamb and yes i did but to my greatest disappointment i go 182. I checked my result in 3 cyber-cafe because it was so hard for me to believe it was my result, i cried and cried but the crying did not change anything. My parents were not disappointed they were just surprised that i got that score but they said its God's doing that i should wait for next year.. That was the saddest sentence i have ever heard in my life.

When my neighbor check his own he scored 215, he was so shocked he thought jamb made a mistake but what made him believe it was his result was because he used CHOKES.
*SenGinEduco organization media*
The night before the exam we were all seated in our compound so he told me that he will not sleep tonight, i asked why and he said he his waiting for chokes i laughed and said 'do you know that Jamb is the only examination that the answers don't get leaked?' I was wrong..

Out of curiosity I stayed with him so I could see the answers he was expecting, by 11pm he got English, by 2am commerce and economics entered.. He said maths was going to leak by 8am in the morning. He had a very bad handwriting so I helped him copied all the prepared answers from his cell phone to a small piece of paper when I finished I advised him not to use it that it might be wrong and how will he know that the paper types will correspond? he replied by saying 'na today' He told me to copy my own down so we can use it together, I declined.

If I only I could see the future I would have accepted his offer and use the prepared answers. Two weeks after the examination I came across a website. When I saw the website I was shocked and I showed it to my elder brother who was a graduate he discouraged me to forget about the site, that it is against the law, he went further saying if I get caught I will spend some years in jail, but I laughed it off I read all what was written on the website and it was so perfect that I believed every word that was written there, So I called the phone number and a guy picked it up, I told him that I saw his number on a jamb site and that I will like to upgrade my jamb score from 182 to 205, he said that's not a problem and he would help me do it in 5 hours after payment. he requested for my jamb details which i sent and he told me that when I pay the money I should call him...
*SenGinEduco organization media*
I was kinda happy and I decided not to tell my parents, I will use the upgraded result as a surprise to them, I brought out all my savings it was 3,500 naira I could put together so I lied to my elder bother that I want to learn how to type and the typist requested for 1,500 naira. he gave it to me immediately and said after I learn it I will be more useful to him and I will have something doing.

The next day I headed to the bank and I payed the sum of 5,000 naira into his account Account Name: Kingsley Imoh Account Number: 0043751340 GT-Bank I called him and he said he got an alert that after 5hours I should go and re-print my result. Unfortunately when I went to the cyber cafe I was told my jamb card has been used many times that I need to get a new jamb card, I was sad because I don't know where to get the money. Actually the man selling jamb stuffs is my church member so I went to get the card on credit with the belief that when my parent see the result they will be very happy and they would pay for the card. But to my greatest surprise I checked my result and nothing changed I waited for the next day checked again and I still saw my same score.. I called him and he did not picked, I sent him messages he replied saying its a database complication that i should wait for an hour and check back, I waited for two hours and checked but i still saw the jamb score, I called him but his phone was not reachable.

*SenGinEduco organization media*

Till now his phone is not reachable it was that moment i realized i have been scammed. I took the courage and I told my parents what happened. I showed the the website and they said its not my fault that even if they were the one they would fall for it. So they paid for the jamb card and enrolled me into a computer school and I apologized to my elder bro for lying to him. Its not like I want a refund or something. I just want people to know that this upgrading stuff is not real and I wish someone can caught the owner of that site and lock him up cause I believe I am not his only victim and I will not be his last.

ASUU released journal via E-Learning

*ASUU speaks on the FG directive to embark on E-learning online class and here are the issues that ASUU pointed out to the minister of education Prof Adamu Adamu*

    *ASUU journal April 2020 released*

*SenGinEduco organizations media reporting live*

Following the call by the Honorable
Minister of Education to VCs, Provosts
and Rectors of tertiary education
institutions to recommence their aborted
academic sessions as a result of COVID-19
pandemic online, ASUU wishes to appraise
Nigerians of the challenges involved in the implementation of the Ministerial directive. It
is important to break what E-learning involves
down to its constituents bolts and nuts.

*SenGinEduco organization media*

 This is
necessary in order not to leave anyone in doubt that the Honorable Minister is either engaged in political gimmickry or that he is not fully
informed of the situation in the sector over which he presides.

_To this end, it is imperative
to make the following categorical declarations_ :

*Here is what ASUU released on her April journal 2020👇🏼*

1. The Minister needs to understand that E-Learning is not the same as computer vending
and supplies. It is not as simple as
computerization, supplying of computers and
accessories, or simply connecting institutions
to the internet.

2. The production of power points slides and
accessing MOOCS of overseas university is not
E-learning.

3. Online learning is a type of E-learning that
depends entirely on internet-based resources
and support system. E-learning requires certain behavioural changes and regulatory
adjustments in order to make it work for the
learner. It cannot be established by mere
Ministerial directive and bureaucratic fiat but
through careful and detailed planning, funding
and training by those involved. None of these
have been done in Nigeria.

*SenGinEduco organization media*

4. There is no Nigerian University today that is
operating any form or model of E-learning
because of poor internet access, high
bandwidth costs and irregular power supply.
On what infrastructure does the Minister expect the online delivery to run?

Follow us on Facebook page: www.fb.me/SenGinEduco

5. Over the years governments, in collaboration
with some corrupt Vice Chancellors have
dumped smart boards on Universities which are now largely used as marker boards because they are not internet enabled and have no electricity to power them.

6. Faculties in universities have become
generator farms with attendant noise pollution in an attempt to maintain some degree of
services. What does the Minister expect to
happen to change the entrenched degenerative
situation?.

E-mail us today; SenGinEduco.edu.ng@gmail.com

7. Online learning depends critically on an
effective library system, with online resources
and seamless access from across the globe. No
Nigerian Library, including the National
Library has a semblance of a kindergarten
library in serious countries.

8. Online learning can only be effective where
there is effective learner support online. For
such support to be sustainable both learners and
facilitators must have seamless access to the
internet, and must be attuned to the new
environment and culture of learning. This
means that requisite training must have been
done.

9. Learning content must be available in a
format amenable to self-learning. This requires
skilled design through collaborative efforts by
specialists over time. MOOCS have been
touted as replacement for well-designed
content that is suited to the characteristics of the
learner and adapted to the local context. We
shouldn’t be fooled.

10. If the objectives is learning and the focus is
on the learner, preliminary studies ought to
have been done to determine the learner
characteristics and the diversities of the
realities across the federation before modelling
any approach to E-learning.
The Minister is not
properly educated to
understand that online learning is much more
than copying MOOCS and making power
point.

11. Internet access is variable across geopolitical regions, as well as linguistic and
cultural parameters are highly different. One
size fits all approach is ludicrous. Moreover,
sustainable technologies should be the factor in
determining the approach to E-learning not the
excitement from improperly digested
information from too much education tourism.

12. Nigeria today runs a rudimentary distance
education system through a National Open
University and approved dual-mode
institutions that have distance learning centers.
The approach to distance education by these
institutions is at best characterized as blended learning, weighing more in the direction of face to face interaction. Some of these institutions
are basically disguised part-time programs.

13. The distance learning operations are fraught
with inequities due to the fact that they are set
up primarily as fund raising platforms for IGR
by their respective institutions.

14. There is no single University in Nigeria
today that operates a mix-mode system. This is
when students have option to take courses
online or face to face. To seek to transit
therefore to online delivery will amount to
taking a plunge. We believe that as usual,
contractors have cornered the government and
have seen a business opportunity. While civil
servants are once more using COVID-19 as a
reason to defraud government.

15. The Nigerian university system had been
defrauded for many years by federal agencies
who dump substandard computers in
universities from time to time at the end of the
year, to justify last minute plundering of
national resources in the name of supporting Elearning.

*SenGinEduco organizations media*

16. With the poverty levels in Nigeria today, we
are not told how the online learning will be
financed. Lecturers are already burdened by the
fact that they have to finance the tools of their
work from their salaries. There is no other
profession where employees are required to
pay for the cost of the tools of their work. On
the average, a lecturer spends between twenty
thousand naira and forty-thousand naira on data
monthly, another twenty-thousand to buy fuel
for generators. This is besides the fact that he
bears the cost of purchasing a lap top for his
work and contributing towards keeping
indigent students in school. The Academic
Staff Union of Universities wishes to call on
Nigerians not to be deceived by the sudden love
for online learning. The hounds have smelt an
avenue to plunder our national resources once
more.

At such a time of serious emergency,
when any right thinking person should be
reflecting, we can see once again that they want
to make money from the suffering of the poor
masses.

SenGinEduco organizations conclusion on this is that no single university is well equipped for this because they are basic facilities that need to be in place before such can happen as it's now any university, polytechnic institute that embark on such is just a joker and during so in act of wickedness and inflicting pains on students who can't meet up, cause every Nigeria students are entitled to equal educational right no one is special in education, it's equality and that equality must be observed > SenGinEduco organizations

*Welcome back to our main Article of the day*

*Note that this article of scores breakdown and  courses  via your score should take place once jamb release 2020/21 benchmark cut off for all institutions pls*

*For jambite students who score 150-330+* LISTEN SO YOU WILL NOT LOOSE ADMISSION AGAIN!!
jamb results are already out and some of you have scores from 150+, but the lowest i have seen so far is 116 and i will gladly say that this year jamb is far worst  than  2017-19,now what am saying in essence is that you all should  expect massive decrease in cut off mark in some courses but expect slim increase in  these competitive  like
*LAW
*MEDICINE AND SURGERY
* ACCOUNTING *PHARMACY * RADIOGRAPHY,* MASS COM,*POLITICAL SCIENCE * MED REHAB Etc..this courses i will say to you that if you know you didn't score 285+ and you don't have    1sitting results such as WAEC or NECO pls don't bother risking it with score of 200-270 don't even try it for your own good, jamb recorded massive failed stories this year and seized very few result should I say withheld it and they will not release it!!!  Stop deceiving yourself that the jamb result you saw is fake, ok now stay there and be lying to yourself!!!  ,now listen to what I want to tell you and I promise you that you will not sit at home if you do it. I will break it down and take your time to read it , cause I will not be available to reply your comments but send your comments to our email address via SenGinEduco.edu.ng@gmail.com or our Facebook Page fb.me/SenGinEduco

        *THOSE WITH 150-179*
pls sir I have jamb score of 150-170 what can I do Sir?... 150-179 Is not the end of the world, but I will tell you to seek out for polytechnic institute form rather than fooling around waiting for federal university that will collect 150+ university like university of calabar and Utoke byelsea state, they just want to extort money from you and I vow, you won't get admission!  just peacefully collect any reasonable polytechnic institute form and prepare for her Utme exams and if you have a very good olevel result then is another opportunity, so that after your ND you can apply for Direct Entry DE to any university of your choice so you can join your others in year2 ...now hope is not lost and I will advise you to  choose course that is related to your field of study so you can do it in DE In year2 eg MedLab in university u can do Med Rehab,Radiograph,..etc just ask question before u do DE!! Visit our SenGinEduco media for More information.

*THOSE JAMBITE WITH 180-199*

those with 180-199 precisely few federal universities collect this cut just universities like :
UniAbuja, Uniport, Unical, Unilorin(depending on your course), UniJos, AbuZaira, Fuyo, Futa(either 200or190)and state university collect 180+ but LASU(Lagos state university) collect 190+ not 180 and you must make them 1st choice only!!  now if you have this score and you are aspiring for higher course dear, pls they are minor courses that you can go for which you will definitely enjoy such courses are as follows :
Mathematics
*English education
*Sociology
*Fine art
*music
*social work
*medical laboratory
* Science lab tech, *Foreign languages (China, Germany, French) and philosophy, geography, microbiology, biochemistry, zoology and botany and plant sciences!!! this courses have low cut off mark from the look of things till now and u will really love it. just do your reach and make sure that your jamb subject combination rhythm with it not just about changing my course! Kindly join our SenGinEduco Post-utme class for assistant.

Note!!!!  pls kindly Google search for the courses that your university offers and the cut off mark from 2015-2017 so from there you can know your chance of gaining admission into university or polytechnic institute, and message me those cut off from 2015-2017 with the course you have in mind as second option. But if you are in SenGinEduco or  join Post-utme class we will do all for you and guide you through.

      *THOSE WITH 200-240*
*Those with 200-240 score and aspiring for higher curses, I will beg you to change forget catchment area, you will definitely do post-Utme exams and they might be strict gon and u wouldn't want it!  You know those prominent universities that collect 200+ such as *UNN, UNILAG, UNIBEN, UNIZIK, UNIUYO, UI, OAU, UNILORIN, FUTA and FUTO,  those one are high and they are minor interesting courses you can do and get admission easily are :Combined Art/social science and Combined biological sciences, (cut off 50%)which means that you will combine two course together eg History and theatre art, microbiology and biochemistry depending on your choice of combination and only university of  Nigeria those it. Archaeology and tourism any department can do it except science students just have economic, govt, crk, English, commerce, literature is not compulsory and only UNN offers it cut is 210/4=52% as cut off from 2013-2015 ,2016-2017 is 51.3%)
*philosophy, Economic, sociology and anthropology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, zoology, Botany, Plant sciences, Food Tech, human anatomy, social work, religious study, Geography,Mathematics, tourism, insurance, marketing, foreign language, And fine art, etc.

*Note that even if UNN, UniZik, futo cut 180 my dear don't even try using your 180-199 to buy form*

     *THOSE WITH 260-278*
*Those with 260-278 wishing for their desire courses should think twice, it will favor you if you are from that university state region, it will really benefit you.Eg.I choose law and I score 265 and utme with  my jamb is equal to 64.5 and from Osun state choosing unilag, and merits cut off for law is 70.5 and my state catchment area is 64.1% I have already gained admission in merit through catchment area, so I will advise all of you that want to really die for your course with low score of 256 should change institution or change courses if your state is not among your university choice, Even though President buhari as said they should scrap catchment areas but my dear its not  yet effective so no just dey rejoice because we are still on the same Page, just to avoid story..

For those aspiring medicine and surgery, you can change to Microbiology or biochemistry,Human anatomy, Gynecology, & Medical Rehabilitation cause is closer to medicine and for those who want to change to medicine will do Bio101. For those in law will have to change to History and international relations, Archaeology and tourism (UNN only offers it), those are the course close to law... Others sweet courses you can change to with your 250-278 are : considering the jamb 2020 Mass failure .
Mass communication, Psychology, History and international relations, MedRehab, MedLab, science lab Tech, biochemistry, Microbiology, Sociology and anthropology,English and Literally studies ,Theatre art, Music etc...join our SenGinEduco Post-utme class for more assistant

*Note!!!*  Make sure your olevel rhythm with your course, you can tell me that you want to study medicine and you don't have biology or physic. to be honest with you if you don't have physic or chemistry you can't study any science or engineering courses!!!   and for Art students without literature you can study any course in social science department in as much you have Government, Economic, Crk, biology etc)
competitive courses in engineering departments are:
Electronic engineering, Mechanical engineering, petroleum engineering, architecture, In doing this courses I have mentioned you must at least score 255+ minimum.. Note!!!  with your score you can loose the admission is not by high mark but by smartness!!  ask 2017-2019 set who failed to listen and if you know you won't like what you are changing to, pls pls I will beg you to prepare for 2021 jamb than going to university to gather Carry overs COs.

*SenGinEduco organization media*

  *THOSE WITH 280-300+*
Those with 280-300+ I will say a big congratulations but you might not get admission for 3things which are
1 if you choose wrong subject combination for your course
2. If you register a subject you failed in your Waec or Neco result or you don't have it in your olevel and you register it in your jamb .
3.If you go and relax and think you have murder jamb without studying more, and if you don't compare 2015-2017 cut off mark to know your stand, and again if you dare use two sitting hmmmm!!  well I rest my case!!!

*Note that some institutions might (I said might oo not they will, before some people will quote me wrong) use the 2016 screening process of making use of your olevel and jamb result if this corona virus outbreak continues*

**OLEVEL DETAILS &CATCHMENT AREAS*
They some university that you must use 1sitting irrespective of your courses eg university of Lagos (Unilag) University of Ibadan(not sure if is all course) the rest take two sitting but I will advise you not to use two sitting for this courses cause of sensitiveness :Pharmacy, Nursing, Law, Petroleum engineering, Architecture, Medicine, Radiography, and even if you are gonna choose microbiology in other to change to medicine hmmm my dear you will be required to submit your single result!  so don't play smart!!
Don't change to a course you know fully well that you don't have the requirements, I warn some of you from day 1 to register Economic, government, crk or Literature, English language, so that it will be easy for you to change to any course in social science and faculty of art but some proof stubborn!!  Note!!  Estate management is very less competitive, you require biology, govt, economic and English language in your jamb to do it cut off is always 45-50% both state university and federal university and polytechnic institute )

Courses you should change to in polytechnic institute for those with 150-190 and make that polytechnic institute first choice ooooo for fast admission :
Environmental biology, Mass com, Public administration, Slt, Estate management, statistics, mechanical engineering, etc just check and make sure those polytechnic institute offers that courses and I bet you, admission is sure for you!  .

         *CATCHMENT AREAS*
Catchment areas why??? This is one opportunity that will help those from that university region and one funny thing about it is that they play politics with it, is just a pity after Buhari scarp it some might, some might  still use it..
Those from Yoruba state and choose unilag, Oau ,their cut off will not be the same , so if you are from Eastern part of Nigeria and southern pls kindly get merit scores or go to your state federal university and save yourself headache and dying for one particular university you know you aren't in their catchment area. wise up!!! Dear,  age is counting on you...
Now listen, University of Ibadan and university of Abuja are two university I love ,because they don't believe in catchment areas, merit is merit, that why they don't increase their cut beyond 5% is either is below 5% or above and the only thing they do is ELDS (Educational less developed state)  and if you get Ui cut off mark and u didn't gain admission,it's  because you have issues with your olevel results and your credentials!

*SenGinEduco organization media*

UNILAG-,OAU⇒ covers all Yoruba state
UNN ⇒ covers all south-south state and south East state.
UNIBEN ⇒covers only few of south-south state note choosing it is at your own risk irrespective of your high score!!
UNIZIk ⇒ covers only south East state.
University of Ilorin ⇒covers only north central despite is own by the Yoruba people but the Hausa/Fulani have overpower it!..

*THINGS THEY WON'T TELL YOU,JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE AFTER YOUR MONEY*

Note!!!  if you know you are from Eastern part or south-south state and you choose Lasu (Lagos state university I will personally advise you to change it cause their tribalism is too high, extremely high even in Lagos indigenous peoples are been watched before they select.. so for your own good think and you must have credited Yoruba language in your WAEC or NECO result as well , and those from south west that choose it and you didn't score 190+ then rethink and I hope you know that you will make them 1St choice, you can go ask 2017 set, they will be in a better position to explain better!..

As from next month (MAY ) jamb change of courses /institution will kick off and if you know that you want to change kindly sit down and browse through the courses that you wish to change to and check their cut off mark from 2015-2017
